Consonant recognition and sounds
Expand letter and sound knowledge with consonants as this level’s focus.
Official Little English product information · LEVEL 3 / 4
LP3 is the third app in the four-level phonics programme. It focuses on consonant recognition, consonant sounds in words, phonics practice and related vocabulary. Consider it for a child with some letter and vowel experience who is ready to apply more consonant sound knowledge.

Consonant recognition and sounds
LP3
A child may recognise letters and have practised vowels and early blending, yet still need help with consonant sounds or their place in a word. Look at those specific needs, rather than the number of apps already completed or installed.
Revisit LP1 if letter–sound connections remain uncertain, or LP2 if vowels and early blending are still the main difficulty. Remembering a picture or a previous answer is different from attending to the letters and sounds in the word.
LITTLE ENGLISH PHONICS
Expand letter and sound knowledge with consonants as this level’s focus.
Practise phonics in related words and connect new sound knowledge with earlier foundations.
Build related vocabulary toward the four-level programme’s shared goal of developing independent readers.
Check the current store and app for course contents, prices and regional availability. Independent reading is a programme goal, without a guaranteed outcome or completion deadline.
These are adaptable home activity suggestions, not a list of app features or individual lessons.
Notice attention to letters as well as pictures, and attempts to use a familiar consonant sound in a different, familiar word. Support is still appropriate; tapping speed and remembered sequences do not establish sound knowledge.
After consonant-focused practice becomes more familiar, explore LP4 for long vowels and other common sounds. Revisit earlier levels whenever a foundation needs support.
LP3 is the consonant-focused next stage in this series. First notice whether your child can use earlier letter and vowel knowledge. If that still needs substantial support, revisiting LP2 is reasonable.
LP2 focuses on vowels; LP3 focuses on consonant recognition and phonics in words, while continuing related vocabulary. Both support reading preparation, but their sound focus differs.
With a parent, direct attention to consonants in the printed word and their sounds, gradually reducing picture clues. This is a suggested home activity, not a claim about a particular app feature. Check letter and vowel foundations before choosing LP3.
The confirmed scope is consonant recognition, phonics and related vocabulary. We do not have a complete lesson-by-lesson list of consonant combinations here, so do not claim every combination or rule is covered. Check the actual course contents.
We do not assign an unverified age range to these levels. Choose by letter and sound experience and the support a child needs. An App Store age rating is not a curriculum placement level.
Each level has its own App Store listing. Check download prices, free access, course purchases and any shared entitlements in each current listing and app. We do not promise that all content is free or one purchase covers the series.
The complete offline scope of each level has not been verified in this catalogue. If offline access matters, check the current description and confirm on your device. Purchases and restoration need an App Store connection.
