Long vowels
Extend earlier foundations through sounds and words associated with long vowels.
Official Little English product information · LEVEL 4 / 4
LP4 is the fourth app in the four-level phonics programme. It covers long vowels, other common sounds and related word practice. Consider it for a child with letter, vowel and consonant practice who is ready to extend phonics knowledge in preparation for reading.

Long vowels
LP4
LP4 may fit a child who tries using known sounds to read some familiar words and is ready to encounter a wider range of sound patterns. The fourth level describes a place in the curriculum, not a guarantee of independent reading of every English book.
Revisit LP3 if consonant recognition and blending often break down. Return to LP1 or LP2 if letters or vowels are the main difficulty. Strengthen the parts that need practice instead of rushing to finish the whole series.
LITTLE ENGLISH PHONICS
Extend earlier foundations through sounds and words associated with long vowels.
Gain further phonics experience through words containing other common sounds.
Use broader sound knowledge to support word reading and reading choices, while continuing vocabulary and comprehension.
Check the current store and app for course contents, prices and regional availability. Independent reading is a programme goal, without a guaranteed outcome or completion deadline.
These are adaptable home activity suggestions, not a list of app features or individual lessons.
Look for attempts to apply sound knowledge to new, suitably chosen words or short sentences while understanding their meaning. Reading aloud without understanding, or memorising just one passage, calls for continued support.
After LP4, choose reading material according to actual knowledge and continue shared reading. Our new graded reading app is a separate product still in preparation, without a download link or confirmed launch date.
LP4’s published course description explicitly includes long vowels and other common sounds. Check letter, vowel and consonant foundations before choosing this as a starting point.
LP3 focuses on consonant recognition and phonics. LP4 extends into words with long vowels and other common sounds. The stages connect, but LP4 should not be described as simply repeating LP3.
No such result is guaranteed. Independent reading is a programme goal; vocabulary, comprehension, reading material and practice also matter. Choose texts that fit what has been learned and continue reading together.
No. LP4 is the released fourth phonics app, App ID 1435891233. The new graded reading app is a separate planned product.
We do not assign an unverified age range to these levels. Choose by letter and sound experience and the support a child needs. An App Store age rating is not a curriculum placement level.
Each level has its own App Store listing. Check download prices, free access, course purchases and any shared entitlements in each current listing and app. We do not promise that all content is free or one purchase covers the series.
The complete offline scope of each level has not been verified in this catalogue. If offline access matters, check the current description and confirm on your device. Purchases and restoration need an App Store connection.
