How does personalised education with AI relate to the current apps?
Another way to ask:What does “strong models as teachers, children as learners” mean?
The direct answer
Our perspective is that stronger models could provide teaching capabilities: more suitable explanations, examples and practice paths. “Distillation” is an analogy here, not a claim that a child’s development is equivalent to training an algorithm.
How to think about it
Parents still need to understand what drives adjustments, which judgments may be unreliable and when a person should take over. Children have interests, emotions and choices; one accuracy score cannot describe their growth. Released activities are recorded separately from this longer-term vision.
Something to try
- Describe a specific need, such as understanding a word or practising a sound group.
- Check what content and feedback a tool actually provides today.
- Observe and adjust with a parent, allowing the child to choose, ask and stop.
Scope and limits
This is a team perspective, not an education study. Speak Out uses prepared dialogues; the new graded reader is not released. Neither establishes that a general AI teacher is available.
